Vicki Sly is an Australian freelance writer, editor and proofreader with a passion for the written word. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (English) with a major in Journalism, a Certificate of Professional Editing and Proofreading, a Diploma of Professional Writing and a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Vicki has 25 years of experience working with books, newspapers, websites, journals and magazines. Vicki has spent many years living and working internationally – namely the United Kingdom, Japan and most recently, the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. She has also travelled extensively.

Her hobbies include reading, writing, travelling, surfing, walking, yoga, camping and cooking vegetarian and Indian meals for friends and family. She recently moved to a stunning coastal town in Western Australia called Broome. From there she hopes to explore that unique part of the world with her husband, two girls and Chisel the Border Collie.

Vicki also writes for the travel website Perth Walkabout , a building blog called Building in Your Blood and has her own book blog called slyonbooks featuring a mix of Australian and world literature.
